The Cancer Care Research Unit (CCRU) is a multidisciplinary research collaboration led by Professor Kate White, Professor of Cancer Nursing at Sydney Local Health District and the University of Sydney.
We bring together:

CCRU is a collaboration between the Sydney Nursing School, the Daffodil Centre, and Sydney Local Health District, combining leading expertise in cancer, haematology, and palliative care research.

What We Do
CCRU works across the full research-to-practice pathway:
Research & Innovation
We design and conduct studies that address critical gaps in cancer care, focusing on patient experience, quality of life, and supportive care needs.
Clinical Collaboration
We partner with cancer and haematology clinicians to generate research questions directly from clinical practice and implement findings in real-world settings.
Research Capacity Building
We provide mentoring, training, and hands-on support to clinicians to:
- Develop research projects
- Conduct clinical research
- Publish research findings
Translation to Practice
Our work focuses on ensuring research leads to tangible improvements in care delivery across hospital, community, and rural care settings.
